On August 18-19, the Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning in ICT hosted a round table event in Gaborone, Botswana as an official pre-event of the Innovating Education in Africa Expo 2019. Ministers of education as well as innovators and EdTech entrepreneurs, leaders in ICT for education, development agencies, and academia came together to identify key education challenges and constraints that EdTech solutions can potentially resolve.

A total of sixty attendees participated from nine countries across the continent; five countries were represented at the ministerial level.

The outcomes of the Forum have informed a call for applications for EdTech entrepreneurs to address the key challenges identified. The Forum also helped determine key priorities and areas of focus for the Centre over the next 12-18 months.
