Ousmane Ngom, trainee of the APTE program in Thiès.
Ousmane Ngom, a model of young entrepreneur
Seventeen years old, Ousmane is already an entrepreneur who skillfully manages his poultry and goat farming business. He owns a herd of nearly thirty head of cattle which allows him to support his personal needs, pay for his school supplies and help his family with household expenses.
While participating to the APTE program, Ousmane particularly enjoyed the “Personal Development” module. The training taught him how to express himself more effectively and sharpened his entrepreneurial traits and behavior.
The APTE program has enabled Ousmane to overcome his shyness. As a result of his newly gained self-confidence, his academic performance has greatly improved.
Ousmane is passionate about pastoral farming, which he hopes to make his profession in the future.
According to his mother, Ousmane has always been a very responsible young man “He is dedicated to his work which does not prevent him performing at school”. His father adds that “The program has had a very positive effect on Ousmane. He came out of it more ambitious and mature.”
