Lights Out Premier

Sometimes when the lights go out around you, the light goes on inside of you.

Lights Out chronicles the entrepreneurial journey of Isaac Oboth, a 2012 Anzisha prize winner, award-winning filmmaker, and three times Forbes 30 under 30 recipient who turned to entrepreneurship at 16 when his older brother could no longer afford to pay his school fees. Told through Isaac’s own camera lens, Lights Out shows us how adversity and resilience can lead to finding one’s purpose and passion in a way that inspires others and supports others.  Lights Out has the potential to turn the lights on for many young people, as they realize that they too have what it takes to succeed.

Join us for the premier of the film on October 15th at 8pm (GMT+3).

Watch live on the Young Africa Works Facebook page.

Originally produced to shine a spotlight on the entrepreneurial spirit of Africa’s youngest entrepreneurs, Lights Out and the Audacious Ones (a series of videos profiling five young Anzisha Fellows), today serve as a compelling package of stories that will inspire youth from across the continent to reflect on their own stories of resilience.

What better time to share Isaac’s story than during this period of great churning?
