In Partnership With

Terra Kulture Arts and Studio Limited, a leading arts and culture centre in Nigeria, set up TAFTA. TAFTA aims to educate young people with relevant, up-to-date technical and practical skills for the creative industry to help students optimise their entrepreneurial capacity to secure sustainable employment and foster sustainable growth and innovation in the emerging creative industries in Nigeria.

Terra Kulture observed a dearth of trained technical production-skilled workers while working on multiple productions over the years and has been informally involved in training young Nigerians in efforts to improve the skills of such workers. Consequently, the Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA) was established to formalise these skilling efforts.

Target Impact

Empower 65,600 young Nigerians (70% female) by providing training on key technical production skills for theatre and the creative industry. Entrepreneurial modules will be embedded to teach learners about the business side of production and the creative industry.

  • 5000+

Over 5000 young people have already been reached by the program.

  • Experience

Participants received hands-on experience in theatre production, including working on a widely recognised stage production.

  • Collaboration

Collaborated with access-to-finance banking partner FCMB to create a Creative Industry Fund that will address the funding needs of young creatives. No collateral is required, and loans are offered at a single-digit interest rate.

Partnership Focus

Training on key technical production skills for theatre and the creative industry will be provided to empower Nigerian youth in the creative space. Entrepreneurial modules will be embedded to teach learners about the business side of production and the creative industry.
