Arabuko Aggregator Enhancement Program

Target Impact

The program seeks to support young people in becoming polished and successful entrepreneurs. It does this by improving their farming skills, introducing them to new farming methods, helping them access financing (loans), and linking them to markets to sell their produce. It also supports farm-produce buyers and marketers in registering their businesses formally and training farmers on proper techniques. This way, they can employ other young people.

Young people are also taught how to add value to their produce, so they get good prices in the market. They are also connected to agrochemical suppliers to get good prices on farm chemicals and seeds, among other things.

They have also formed the Youth Women Aggregators Association, a group that helps young farmers meet each other and share information so they can support each other in increasing their incomes through farming and other agriculture-related businesses.

The program is open to young women and men (aged 18-35) with a passion for success in Nairobi, Kajiado, Makueni, Machakos, and Kiambu counties.
