Education Local Expertise Centre Uganda (ELECU)

The Education Local Expertise Centre Uganda (ELECU) is a national NGO dedicated to empowering Uganda’s most marginalized communities by improving educational outcomes for young people. We work towards sustained poverty reduction by increasing access to quality basic education, skills development, and fostering partnerships with civil society organizations, the Government of Uganda, and the private sector.

ELECU has been operating nationwide since 2010, implementing programs that address key gaps in community participation, literacy, numeracy, support for vulnerable children, and the capacity and motivation of teachers. Our initiatives aim to enhance learner attendance and completion rates in basic education, while also ensuring better quality and relevance of education for all young people in Uganda.
