Rosa Wambui Mendi: Auto Spares Entrepreneurship in Nairobi

Rosa Wambui Mendi is a determined young entrepreneur and Founder of Medisa Auto Spares, in the Grogon area of Nairobi, Kenya, a space traditionally dominated by men.

Through the Fahari Yetu Pamoja group, and in partnership with @EquityGroupFoundation, Rosa received entrepreneurship training that helped her sharpen her skills in record-keeping, marketing, and cash flow management. With these tools and access to finance, Rosa has grown her auto spares shop, created employment opportunities, and is now working towards opening a garage to diversify and scale her business even further.

Youth, Young Women and Men, Refugees Enabled to Work through Access to Finance

Duration: 5 years (April 2020 – March 2025)

Equity Bank Uganda LDT is enabling young women and men, young entrepreneurs, and refugees to engage and become familiar with financial products. The bank offers the following service to youth:

Services targeting youth:

At Equity Bank Uganda Ltd. Young people acquire financial literacy and soft skills in business growth related to agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, lake-based activities, hospitality, among others.
Through this program, youths can access start-up capital and funding for upscaling their enterprises.
Youth are facilitated to form groups to access affordable financial products such as loans without collaterals attached.
