Alan Jope | Mastercard Foundation

Mr. Alan Jope is the former Chief Executive Officer of Unilever PLC, one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, serving 3.4 billion people across 190 countries. He led the company from 2019 to 2023, steering strategic changes that included the unification of its legal structure, expansion into Prestige and Functional Nutrition, and the launch of Unilever’s Climate Transition Action Plan, one of the first shareholder‑approved climate strategies in the industry.

Mr. Jope joined Unilever in 1985 and held senior leadership roles across Asia, North America, and Europe before becoming CEO. He was President of the Beauty & Wellbeing and Personal Care Division and previously led Unilever’s business in China.

He is Chair of the Leverhulme Trust, serves as a Non-Executive Director with Accenture and on the Board of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, and is a Commissioner on the Global Commission on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
