Jennifer Fonstad
Board Director
Ms. Jennifer Fonstad is a serial entrepreneur and veteran investor with 30 years of experience working with and investing in early-stage ventures. Ms. Fonstad co-founded and leads the Owl Capital Group, an early-stage investment firm, and earlier co-founded Aspect Ventures. She also serves as an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School. Previously, she served as a Managing Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson for 17 years, where she helped grow the firm's assets under management from $150 million to over $3.5 billion.
Ms. Fonstad has significant experience on public and private boards, having participated in over 100 investments, including eight IPOs and 23 M&A exits. Her success as an investor has led to several awards and accolades, including making the Forbes Midas List twice, Deloitte's 2016 "Venture Capitalist of the Year,” 'Working Mother’s’ list of "The 50 Most Powerful Moms” in 2017, and most recently, she was named to the Forbes 50 Over 50 list 2025.
She is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and holds an MBA with Distinction from the Harvard Business School. Prior to investing, Ms. Fonstad was a consultant with Bain & Company and spent a year teaching math to high school students in Kenya. She is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Board of the Mastercard Foundation Asset Management Company (MFAM), managing the Foundation’s $50 billion endowment. She also represented the American Red Cross at the International Statutory meeting in Geneva, Switzerland in 2024 and serves as an Adviser to the Red Cross Climate Initiative.
Her favourite role is that of a mother to four children.
