Roberta L. Jamieson, O.C., I.P.C.

Ms. Roberta Jamieson is Mohawk from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. A highly accomplished leader, she has achieved many firsts in Canada. This includes being the first First Nations woman to earn a law degree, the first woman elected Chief of Six Nations, and serving as Ontario’s first female Ombudsman.
She is widely recognized for her expertise in governance, dispute resolution, and social impact. Ms. Jamieson currently serves on the boards of the Royal Bank of Canada and Deloitte Canada and Chile. She is also a member of the Rideau Hall Foundation, where she co‑chairs a national initiative to increase the number of Indigenous teachers in Canada.
As former President and Chief Executive Officer of Indspire, Canada’s largest Indigenous charity, she oversaw an eightfold increase in scholarships and bursaries for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students, earning recognition as one of Canada’s top charities. She also served on Prime Minister Trudeau’s inaugural G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council.
Ms. Jamieson has received numerous honorary degrees and awards, including induction into the WXN Hall of Fame, being appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada, and designated Indigenous Peoples’ Counsel by the Indigenous Bar Association.
