Building an Enabling Environment for Entrepreneurship and MSME Growth in the Agriculture, Tourism & Hospitality Value Chains

The program prioritizes tackling the most pressing barriers preventing young women and men from accessing finance in the agriculture and tourism and hospitality sectors. High among these barriers are the high cost of finance; high collateral requirements; lengthy processes to access finance; perceived risk of financing the sectors; lack of entrepreneurship support to young women and men, especially those in rural areas and negative social and gender norms hindering financial inclusion.

This program will be implemented by a consortium of six partners led by the Rwanda Development Bank (BRD), and include the African Management Institute (AMI), MVEND Ltd, Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda (AMIR), I&M Bank and the Rwanda Men Resource Center (RWAMREC). The members of this consortium were thoughtfully selected from many others based on their unique strengths and potential.
