Partnership Focus
Focused on the financial inclusion and capacity building of micro, small, and medium- sized enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs throughout Senegal, SUQALI offered crucial support to participants, particularly young people and women, in rural areas during and post-COVID 19, including:
• Improved access to financing for entrepreneurs and enterprises excluded from the traditional financial system.
• Created new opportunities for young entrepreneurs and women in rural areas.
• Extended our partners’ activities to new targets and areas and improved risk perception.
• Provided access to 84,544 direct and indirect work opportunities, including 44,558 for young people.
Building on the success of SUQALI, the program’s extension into E4Y (a systemic approach for entrepreneurship, employment, and economic autonomy for young men and women) will identify and support the emergence of local champions in the agricultural value chain in the WAEMU region. They will be provided with support in three key areas: access to finance, access to markets, and skills/expertise-building.
