Target Impact

In partnership with PwC, the Ghana Education Service Workforce Initiative (GESWI) Implementation Support Program is a USD 5 million commitment from the Foundation designed to help drive, manage, and embed change within the GES and to support improved teaching and learning, equity, and more efficient management of the education sector. The program is being implemented with technical and research support from the Education Commission.

Partnership Focus

From 2019 to 2020, under technical assistance funded by DFID, PwC worked with Ghana’s Ministry of Education, the Education Commission (through its Education Workforce Initiative) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) to re-design Ghana’s basic education workforce at all levels to support the successful delivery of Ghana’s Education Strategic Plan (ESP 2018 – 2030). The resulting workforce design will realign the GES to focus on learning and equity, to drive efficiency and to focus its resources on effective education management and administration.

The GESWI program will help drive, manage, and embed change within the GES, to support improved teaching and learning, equity, and more efficient management of the education sector. The program is being implemented with technical/research support from the Education Commission.
