The RIZAO program aims to drive women economic empowerment through the rice value chain. This program is part of a long-term vision aimed at reducing poverty, improving food security and strengthening the livelihoods of young people in West Africa.

The program is anchored on the processors and addresses all the components of the value chain which are addressed in a fully integrated manner : development of a strong seeds industry, increase of the production yield, support to the processors and productivity improvement, improvement of the distribution networks and the creation of a strong local demand and enabling policies.

Partnership Details:

The program will be implemented by a consortium of partners (AfricaRice and MEDA) under the leadership of AfricaRice.
