The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the United Nations’ lead agency on international development, which aims to eradicate poverty and protect the planet by supporting countries to develop strong policies, skills, partnerships, and institutions. UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. In Ghana, UNDP focuses its development interventions on three main programme areas: Governance and Peace Building, Environment and Climate Action, and Inclusive Development. At the heart of all UNDP’s programmes is gender mainstreaming to ensure equity and fairness.
