Partnership Focus

Program activities/iniatives include:

Bringing together young women traders in open air markets (mama mbogas) together to form groups, where they work together and share information on building their businesses.

Training them in business management to be able to run their businesses well and make good profits.

Training them to create online product listings so they can find more customers and increase sales. This includes helping find products that sell at high prices and make them attractive to customers.

The program is open to young women aged 18 – 35 years-old who are traders in Nairobi’s open-air markets.

Soko Kijiji Ltd is an online grocery store delivering fresh fruits and vegetables to homes and offices across Nairobi. The organization has a mobile and web platform that creates convenience for urban dwellers by digitizing open-air markets and increasing income for small-scale traders by linking them to an estimated $29 billion dollar Africa e-commerce market.
