Inclusive Policies Centering and Engaging in Youth Innovation

Resilience is rewriting Sierra Leone’s education story and inspiring the continent. From rebuilding after the Ebola pandemic to tackling deep-rooted inequities in access, the country has shown that progress comes from centring people, especially young people, in both policy and innovation.

By embedding responsive inclusivity into its education strategies, Sierra Leone is demonstrating that inclusion fuels innovation and that technology can bridge divides when guided by empathy and a shared purpose.

The country’s experience mirrors a continental truth: Africa’s strength lies in its ability to learn, adapt, and co-create. When governments, innovators, and young people work together, education becomes more inclusive and transformative.

This edition of Edtech Mondays' Africa discusses the 2024 EdTech Conference Recommendation No. 10: Embed responsive inclusivity in policy and innovation processes, centring and engaging diverse young people.
