Muni University

Established in2013, Muni University is Uganda’s public university located in the West Nile region.

Created to expand access to quality higher education in a historically underserved part of the country, the university has built its identity around teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement for societal transformation. Guided by the values of quality, equity, responsiveness, and professionalism, Muni University has aligned its academic and research agenda with the development priorities of the West Nile region and Uganda more broadly.

As the only public university in the West Nile region, Muni University focuses on addressing one of the region’s most pressing challenges: helping young people, especially refugees, women, and marginalized youth, transition into dignified and fulfilling livelihoods.
