Rosa Wambui Mendi, 35, is the founder of Medisa Auto Spares, located in Grogon, Nairobi. She began her journey in the auto spares industry in 2018 after gaining hands-on experience at her sister’s shop. In 2021, she launched her own business with a capital of half a million Kenyan shillings.
Through the Fahari Yetu Pamoja group, Rosa accessed her first loan from Equity Bank, which helped her expand her stock. With support from Equity Group Foundation training, she enhanced her skills in record-keeping, marketing, and cash flow management.
Today, Rosa has created employment opportunities and is planning to open a garage to diversify her business. She actively uses Pay with Equity and Business Loans to support her operations.

Rosa is a young lady who is thriving in the male-dominated industry of selling auto spares in the Grogon Nairobi area. She gained interest in this industry after being employed by her sister in her auto spares shop for at least two years.
As she worked in the Grogon area, she learned about the business and opened her own Auto spares shop in 2021 with a starting capital of 500,000. She joined the Fahari Yetu Pamoja group, through which she was able to access her first loan from Equity Bank, which she invested in stocking her business. This allowed her business to grow.
She also benefited from EGF training, and she attests to being able to keep better business records after the entrepreneurship skills training. She is also able to implement better marketing strategies for her business and manage her cash flow.
Her future goal is to set up her own garage to complement her current business and to diversify into related businesses to help it grow better.
