Gordon Victor is the founder of GAO-UG Limited, officially known as Gordon’s Agricultural Organization (GAO-UG)Limited Uganda. His social enterprise provides essential agricultural inputs such as sunflower seeds, soya beans, maize, and more. GAO-UG also provides solar-powered water irrigation solutions and offers advisory services to farmers, and to date have provided financial access to over 5,000 smallholder farmers in Alebtong District and other districts of northern Uganda.

GAO-UG Limited is dedicated to empowering rural women by enhancing their financial literacy and providing access to microfinance credit support, enabling them to become independent entrepreneurs.

Gordon reports that in the most recent season to date, GAO-UG was able to reach 2,800 farmers in maize production, which translates to about $10,000 in value.

With a smile as bright as the sunflowers he helps farmers grow, Gordon today is hardly recognized from the trembling young man who started his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education and Extension at Egerton University in 2018, as a Mastercard Foundation and RUFORUM TAGDev scholarship recipient.
