Grace Aipa
Grace Champions Women’s Voices In Agriculture In Kenya
This Is Grace's Story
Learn More About Grace Aipa
The effortless confidence of Aipa Grace, a transformative leader operating in the pastoral Turkana region of Northern Kenya, betrays the difficulties she faced in her childhood: her family’s intention to halt her education and force her into early marriage. Today, having pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education and Extension at Egerton University through a Mastercard and RUFORUM TAGDev scholarship, Grace is a fiercely passionate champion of promoting the complete education of girls, and empowering pastoral women farmers to grow sustainable and profitable crops in the face of the climate crisis. She has worked with about 450 pastoral farmers, mostly women, in learning and applying climate-smart agricultural practices.
My big dream is a community where women and youths are given a chance to provide for their families and a community that understands that climate change is real.
