Our Work in Senegal

The Foundation’s Priorities in Senegal Over the Next Ten Years

Young Africa Works in Senegal builds on the significant groundwork undertaken by the government and detailed in the Plan for an Emerging Senegal (PSE), which outlines the vision for the country until 2035. Our strategy will align with three key priorities:

  • Priority 1 – Support the growth of youth enterprises by increasing access to financing, connecting promising start-ups to funding, and supporting innovation hubs, incubators and accelerators.
  • Priority 2 – Support the potential of youth by connecting those in the informal sector to certification programs and work opportunities. The program will also facilitate access to start-up funds so that youth can create income opportunities.
  • Priority 3 – Strengthen the quality and relevance of secondary and technical/vocational training (TVETs) education by preparing teachers and instructors with relevant, competency-based teaching methods and materials.
